Work Experience Placement Checks
Health and Safety 4 Education can carry out the following checks for your work experience placements:
Undertake health and safety checks by process of an online form for all employers offering work experiences placement for students.
To check the employer has valid employer liability insurance.
To establish through information provided by the employer; the risk level of the placement.
To undertake site visits for all placements with a risk level of medium to high and all employers who have not taken a work experience student before. The site visits will check there is evidence of the following:
The employer’s health and safety policies, processes and arrangements.
The employer’s risk assessment and controls for Covid 19.
The employer’s arrangements for the welfare of the student.
There are two levels of health and safety checks:
Basic check:
This includes: liaising with the employer and evaluating the online form; gaining evidence of valid employer liability insurance, communicating with the school and preparing the end of check assessment.
Advanced check:
This includes: liaising with the employer and evaluating the online form; undertake a site visit, gaining evidence of valid employer liability insurance, communicating with the school and preparing the end of check assessment. A decision to undertake a site visit can only be taken following evaluation of the online form.
